Doha to host Conference on New or Restored Democracies
 Doha will host between 29 October and 1 November 2006 the Sixth International Conference on New or Restored Democracies. Foreign ministers, government officials, heads of parliaments and social organizations from 192 countries will be part of the meeting.
Participants in the conference will discuss issues related to democracy, political reform, effective governance, the role of democracy in development and combating poverty, as well as freedom of speech.
